On September 5, 2011 morning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam – with the presence of representatives of two countries of the Republic of Portugal and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Mr. Tran Kim Chung – Chairman of CT Group honor became first citizen of Vietnam to receive the “Honorary Consul Decision” of the Republic of Portugal in Hanoi.
Because there is no embassy of Portugal in Vietnam, Mr. Tran Kim Chung will be a focal point to implement programs of economic cooperation promotion and cultural exchange between two countries, promotion of image of Portugal to Vietnamese people and vice versa. Thus, this event has a special meaning in strengthening trade relations between Vietnam and Portugal. The office of the Honorary Consulate of Portugal in Hanoi is located at: 3rd Floor, No. 19 – 21 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi and officially came into operation from 05/09/2011.
Following the ceremony of receiving the “Honorary Consul Decision,” Mr. Tran Kim Chung and Portuguese ambassador delegation also had a working session with government agencies such as the Office of the Government, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, People’s Committee of Hanoi city, Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and a number of enterprises in Hanoi city. In the same evening, the opening ceremony of the Honorary Consul of Portugal was also held at the Sheraton Hotel, Hanoi with the full participation of the guests representing the Party and State agencies, Leaders of Ministries and Branches in Hanoi.
